HIV/AIDS POLICY

HIV/Aids is an epidemic for the African continent and the entire world.  In 2011, South Africa had the highest rate of new infections in Southern Africa. South Africa currently has more than 6 million people living with HIV.

PREVENTION OF HIV/AIDS

• Public Education programs

There has been a strong drive to educate the public about how the HIV/Aids virus is spread and preventative measures to combat the spread.

The ABC (abstinence, be faithful, wear a condom) program has helped to educate people in the community about HIV/Aids and a person’s HIV/Aids status.

• Preventing the spread of HIV/Aids from pregnant woman to children
