The Phelang Bonolo Healthcare Group was founded in 2006 by Dr Mabitje Jackson (Jacky) Rampedi. Since its inception, the leadership team Phelang Bonolo has grown to include many distinguished medical, professional and business personnel.

Ms M Ferguson
Executive: Operation Manager
Michelle Ferguson practiced private physiotherapy until 2000. Since then, she has been involved in various project management, clinical planning and IT management roles, particularly with one of the major private Hospital Groups in South Africa. She has invaluable experience in start-ups and implementation of new facilities.
Dr MJ (Jacky) Rampedi
Group Executive
Dr Rampedi has spent the last 20 years growing his successful private family practice after graduating from the Nelson Mandela Medical Faculty of the Natal University. His practice includes four primary healthcare clinics and an emergency service. Dr Rampedi has extensive involvement in community initiatives in the Soshanguve and Mabopane areas including the Winterveld Aids Awareness Campaign. His entrepreneurial drive and commitment to his calling on every level is evident in the respect that the community and his patients have for him.
Mr JG Appelgryn
Executive: Finance
Joe Appelgryn is a highly qualified Chartered Accountant with local and international experience ranging from quasi government positions to private practice. He has years of experience in the world of finance where he is the principal partner of his own mergers and acquisition company, Sinergi Corporate Advisors. Mr Appelgryn also has vast experience in business analysis, project evaluation and capital raising transactions and is a non-executive director of a JSE-listed company. Mr Appelgryn brings his outstanding expertise to bear as he is responsible for the financial infrastructure of the entire Phelang Bonolo Healthcare Group.
Mr SM Rothbart
Non-Executive Director: Corporate Services
Stanley Rothbart initially commenced his interest in law and has been in private legal practice since 1971. His primary legal expertise lies in the area of commercial law with a focus on the law of insolvency. Mr Rothbart is also a director of various property groups. He has also played an extensive role in social welfare areas, having been Chairman and now Honorary Life President of the Selwyn Segal Centre – a facility for handicapped persons with close ties to Alexandra Township in Johannesburg. Mr Rothbart has been involved in starting up a variety of NGO’s servicing the handicapped of all creeds and races. Mr Rothbart has been a director, mentor and advisor to many successful BEE companies and has been integrally involved with Dr Rampedi from the start of the Phelang Bonolo Healthcare Group.
